Glamour Shots
I decided one day to go out to get my hair, nails, and makeover done professionally with Ms. Wenny Blackman at her Hairspray Salon here in Houston so that I could go to the mall and get some professional photos of myself at Glamour Shots.
This was one of the best days I have had thus far in my transition. I remember getting to the mall and checking in. I was given a “royal” treatment of getting a professionally made photo and being pampered for the day.
After the photo shoot, I decide on what pictures that I wanted to buy… all of them... however, being limited by money, I decided on these two pictures. As I sat there waiting for the film to be viewed, the Glamour Shots manager approached me and asked if I would allow her to display a frame 18x20 photo on the wall of the store so that other will know what they can expect during their own sessions.
After about two months, the manager called me and told me that I can come and get this beautifully framed picture to take home. When Marlene and I arrived, we were asked to take a seat near the photo and wait for someone to assist us. While we waited, there were these two men that were looking at pictures of all the various photos on their walls and stopped at my picture. With Marlene and I in earshot of their conversation, we heard one man tell the other that, “… I would leave my wife for her.” (He was looking at my picture!) Marlene and I began to laugh and giggle at his comment… it was a huge ego boost for me to know that I can really pass and be desired as a woman.
